JOB TITLE: IT MANAGER, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
REPORTS TO: FINANCE DIRECTOR

JOB SUMMARY

The IT Manager shall be responsible for managing the information technology needs of PSI to ensure it meets the goals of the organization. He/ She shall also be expected to provide advice to senior management on all IT related issues and also help in determining opportunities for improvement of current IT systems and assessing future IT needs by consulting with people at all levels of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operation and maintenance of network, servers and server rooms in accordance with PSI Kenya and international best practices to ensure business continuity.

2. Help desk administration which includes providing internal clients support and advice while resolving at the shortest time possible user IT problems.
3. Providing support to all PSI regional warehouses and offices.

4. Oversee hardware maintenance by putting in place an equipment replacement plan and monitoring of IT hardware contracts.

5. Installation and deployment of relevant application and program software for the organization.

6. Ensuring IT assets security by protecting network from any malicious infringement.

7. Helping establish cost efficiencies by putting in strategies that will track inventory of all IT software, hardware and IT consumables.

8. Oversee trouble shooting and repair of Computer hardware, telephony system and allied accessories (Printers, scanners, Ups, telephones).
9. Ensuring maximum internet availability in accordance with the IT policy.

10. Maintaining regular data and information backups.

11. Performing systems analysis and ad-hoc programming to meet periodical needs within the organization.
12. Reviewing the IT Policy to ensure it is aligned to the overall strategic plan

13. Managing the IT section and proposing necessary training for users and technical staff to effectively meet the emerging challenges in the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A First degree in an IT Related field with additional professional certification in MCSE and CCNA.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Over 7 years experience in a busy environment with extensive LAN, WIFI and WAN coverage.

• Experience in trouble shooting and configuration of Windows 2007 Exchange server will be an added advantage.
• An in depth knowledge of popular ERPs will also be required.

• Must have management skills having supervised an IT team of at least 3 staff in a medium sized firm

• Availability of uninterrupted and efficient IT system resources to all PSI Kenya staff with minimal downtime.

• Secure IT assets and proper use of organization’s IT resources.

• Cost effective management of IT resources.
