Regional Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator
Is an international non-governmental organization based in Cape Town, SA, 4dedicated to providing education and support to pregnant women and mothers living with HIV, and preventing mother-to-child transmission. m2m empowers HIV-positive pregnant women and new mothers to become role models in their communities by promoting AIDS awareness, testing and services. m2m currently operates in 7 countries in Africa and receives funding from a diverse set of funders.

Purpose:
To coordinate, implement, and oversee all monitoring and evaluation initiatives in support of the mothers2mothers program in the assigned zone in South Africa.
This position reports to the m2m Regional Manager Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West and receives technical oversight from the national Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator. The position is based in Pretoria and requires regular travel to above mentioned provinces.
Key Outcomes:
- Provide regional oversight of the South Africa m2m program monitoring and reporting system;
- Assure timely, accurate and complete collection, data entry and reporting of programmatic data to m2m HQ;
- Assist in preparation of M&E sections of reports for donors and other stakeholders;
- Provide M&E related orientation, training and mentorship for m2m program staff including to the Provincial Managers, Site Coordinators, Mentor Mothers and other program staff;
- Contribute to promoting M&E capacity and sustainability in the assigned zones and across the organisation in collaboration with SA M&E staff;
- Assist with all other strategic information related programmatic activities which involves data collection and analysis and enhanced data use to inform program improvements;
- Provide other M&E related guidance and expert assistance required in support of the m2m program in South Africa.
- Bachelor degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, international health, or related discipline, (higher level degree an advantage)
- Minimum of 3 years’ specific M&E related work experience in the health sector required, experience with HIV/AIDS preferred
- Experience in the implementation and management of M&E systems involving capacity building for field staff and monitoring and promotion of data quality
- Experience with USG PEPFAR as well as other bilateral and multilateral donor M&E reporting requirements preferred
Competencies Required:
- Computer skills with work experience using MS Office applications required, competence in programming and analysis using programs such as SAS, SPSS, Epi-Info or others is an advantage.
- Good written and verbal communications skills in English and Sotho and Zulu languages.
Strong interpersonal communication skills. - Proven ability to work as a team leader and as a team member with multidisciplinary teams.
