Position: Security Officer
Reporting to: Head of Operations & IT

Job Summary

The Bank Security Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing and administering all aspects of the Bank's Security Program, including administering security devices and settings at all Bank facilities, providing security training and giving security guidance to all Bank personnel.

Key Responsibilities

1. Monitor and review security issues of the Bank and provide comprehensive and accurate reports to management.

2. Provide regular security status reports, highlighting and escalating any potential security hazard or recurring incidences.

3. Resolve complaints relating to Bank’s security and follow up to satisfactory completion.

4. Advice management, including updating Bank personnel on emerging security risks and guiding the Bank in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks.

5. Ensure activities across the Bank run smoothly and efficiently by providing training on relevant security protocols and ensure that Standard Security Procedures are operational.

6. Day to day supervision of security personnel, including those outsourced; ensuring that security personnel report for duty, are allocated duties and liaise with the contracted firm for smooth shift handover, relief and replacement as and when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Arts, Social Sciences, or any related field. However, a diploma backed by strong relevant technical experience will also be considered

• Any relevant security management or intelligence training

• 3 years relevant experience, preferably in a security management

• Proven experience in setting up and maintaining a security system

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Supervisory skills and administrative skills

We are currently looking for a Security Officer for our Kipkebe Ltd. Tea Operations based in Sotik, Kenya. Reporting to the General Manager, the Security Officer will be responsible for managing and controlling all aspects of security at Kipkebe Limited.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities will include to:-
Prepare, maintain and implement the company’s security plan and supervise security guards
Carry out assessment of security conditions throughout the company including to collect, interpret and analyze routine security information and prepare routine and incident reports
Implement and supervise training for all security guards and ensure security briefings for other staff and visitors as appropriate
Establish and maintain operational emergency communication systems
Maintain liaison with local police station and other relevant local authorities
Periodically inspect and ensure servicing of firefighting equipment
Manage and inspect the log of entry and exit of personnel, materials, vehicles etc
Qualifications
Completion of secondary school education or equivalent.
Minimum five (5) years experience in security related matters. Police or military experience will be a definite advantage.
Knowledge of security communication equipment. First aid and fire-fighting skills are desirable.
Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and Kiswahili
High levels of integrity and excellent interpersonal skills
