Sales Assistant ST/SAT/1

Serenity travel is a new business venture seeking to provide van hire services specifically for local tour travels and hire for personal and corporate functions in Kenya and east Africa. We have available the following positions:


Driver: ST/DRV/1


Duties and responsibilities

Driving assignments to any part of Kenya or east Africa
In charge of vehicles general maintenance i.e. follow up on minor service, fuelling etc
Working on call and sometimes on weekends.

The person
Fluent and articulate in English and Swahili. A foreign language will be an added advantage
Outspoken and able to communicate and blend easily with others
Basic knowledge of the Kenyan tour industry
Ability to work independently
Ability to meet to work on tight time schedules
Ability to work under pressure

Qualifications

Minimum K.C.S.E certificate
Valid Driving license
Certificate of Good Conduct

Terms
A one years renewable contract on successful completion of a six months probation
Remuneration: negotiable.

Sales Assistant ST/SAT/1


The role involves 80% fieldwork and 20% office administration.
Duties and responsibilities

Formulating monthly business plans and business calls plans
Making sales projections on a weekly basis
Translate sales projections and calls into revenue
Writing sale reports on daily and weekly basis
Preparation of invoices & Managing of correspondence
Management of key accounts
Preparing a weekly sales call plan on
Follow up on potential clients
Keeping an updated database of individual and corporate clients by industry
Travelling with clients on need basis
Meeting the set out targets
Timely submission of all required reports and clients quotation on time
Preparation of branding materials
Liaising with business partners e.g. media for space
Office administration and any other duties that may be assigned

The Person
Aggressive and entrepreneurial orientation of business
Knowledge of the marketing mix
Basic knowledge of Microsoft excel, word and ability to create and do presentations on PowerPoint
Fluent in English and Swahili: knowledge of a foreign language will be an added advantage
Outspoken and able to communicate and blend easily with others
Basic knowledge of the tourism industry in Kenya will be an added advantage
Ability to work under pressure

Qualifications

Minimum diploma in business management, sales, or marketing
One years experience in sales
Certificate of good conduct

Terms
A one years renewable contract on successful completion of a six months probation
Remuneration: negotiable.

Head of Department - M-PESA Sales
Ref: NP - HOD-MS - MARIO

Reporting to the Chief Officer — New Products Division, the job holder will be responsible for The growth of sales of the M-PESA Product. This will entail formulating & implementing the M-PESA sales strategy with an aim of growing usage, connection & revenues from the product.

The role is also responsible for the management of M-PESA’s vast agent network and related activities.

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:

Drive M-PESA Sales

Formulate & Implement M-PESA Sales Strategy
Manage the M-PESA Sales budgets
Drive the M-PESA Transactional Revenue
Manage Key Accounts

Recruit non-traditional retail outlets
Formulate & implement marketing plans per channel
Manage the overall operations of newly acquired channel accounts & ensure compliance to channel contractual agreement requirements
Develop & implement effective merchandising plans for the retail channels
Develop & implement effective promotional activities within the sales channel
Provide administrative supervision in recruiting of M-PESA agents including Safaricom dealers, non dealers, new M-PESA Agents & businesses
Identify gaps & corrective measures on agent coverage within the country to ensure a quality agent network
Monitor agent performance
Communicate to agent’s dealers on issues of non-compliance, irregularities & action plans on way forward
Deliver suitable branding for M-PESA outlets & recruitment activities
Provide Leadership & Management

Build talent, motivate and influence others to develop a high performing team
Mentor, coach and train individuals within the team
Actively monitor team KPI’s
Promote an open atmosphere and encourage team members to seek advice and
Develop & Manage the team’s budget
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies

Bachelors Degree in Sales or Marketing. A post graduate certification in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage;
At least 10 years hands on experience in sales management with at least 5 years in a managerial role preferably in a fast moving consumer goods company;
Proven success in the management of Regional or National distributor network;
Good working knowledge of MS Office applications is a must;
A highly organized, conscientious and detail oriented individual;
Excellent communications, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills;
An excellent planner and organizer. The individual must demonstrate good business and commercial awareness;
Ability to influence and advice stakeholders, peers and the Safaricom Executive Committee;
Good problem solving, analytical and decision making skills;
A highly credible, strategic focused individual;
Good leadership and management skills coupled with hands on experience in appraising and developing staff.

Senior Manager - Advertising
Ref: CEO-SMA-MAR10

Reporting to the Head of Department Marketing & Communications, the job holder will act as a custodian of the Safaricom brand, in liaison with the agency; develop the Strategy, positioning, look and feel for the Safaricom brand and relevant points of contact with the diverse customers.

He/she will manage all advertising and promotional material for Safaricom, including Consumer, Business, M-PESA and Corporate campaigns.

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:

Coordinate advertising and promotional briefs to deliver world class advertising;
Manage the creative agency development process and resourcing levels required for Safaricom to ensure delivery of above the line, below the line and digital advertising materials for execution;
Analyze competitor advertising activity, and provide strategic insight and foresight to deliver advertising that ensures delivery of Long Term Strategic development and Implementation of Safaricom’s Corporate and Brand image;
Creatively and innovatively review and implement Best Advertising practice and programs;
Monitor and reporting on the performance of the Agency and expenditure of the advertising budget to drive increasingly efficient return on investment (ROI);
Prepare reports on budgets and competitor activity;
Manage and monitor electronic, print and digital outdoor advertising for Safaricom, and prepare advertising studies for the internal Vodafone network review.
The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:

Bachelors degree in marketing or business administration from a recognized university;
At least 10 years experience in an Advertising role at managerial level with a focus on brand management, advertising and promotions;
Strong creative and conceptual skills;
Good working knowledge of MS Office applications is a must;

Senior Managers - Credit and Customer Billing Department
Ref: FIN SM - C&CB - FEB2010

Reporting to the Head of Department Credit & Customer Billing within the Finance Division, the jobholders will be responsible for managing & overseeing the debt component by ensuring the Debt Collection strategy is effectively and continuously defined and implemented.

The job holders will be instrumental in ensuring effective, accurate and timely billing, consistent balances monitoring & debtors’ accounts management.

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:

Continuously evaluate the creation of debt at the acquiring stage. This will involve proactively steering the company in KYC functions as the basis for granting credit facilities to our customers;
Manage the bad-debt that arises within the business. This will involve early mitigation, classification and provisioning of bad-debt, while formulating and implementing aggressive approaches for the recovery and maintenance of debt to acceptable levels;
Consistently develop and execute strategic and actionable programs to ensure chum is reduced to forecasted percentages;
Continuously monitor collections for the business and ensure month-to-month targets are met and provide strategic direction to the team on ways of achieving the laid down targets;
Innovatively manage the debt issues that arise. This will entail re-structuring based on commercial & customer requirements with an aim of maintaining an adequate performing debt portfolio which will not affect overall cash flows for the business;
Project manage the delivery of new customer functionality and systems affecting post pay customer base including requirement specifications, testing, documentation of processes and procedures;
Provide product support to internal customers on customers accounts & issues and ensure new functionalities, processes and procedures are fully understood;
Effectively manage, develop and coach staff.
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies

A Bachelor of Commerce or a Business related degree from a recognized university; a postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage;
Professional accounting certification e.g. CPA (K), ACA or ACCA;
Professional qualifications in credit management preferably a Diploma in Credit Management;
At least 8 years work experience in Credit and/or Risk Management in a busy commercial environment of which 3 years should be in a management role;
Ability to demonstrate sound experience, technical competence, effective team leadership and liaison skills;
Must have good leadership, managerial and supervisory skills coupled with hands on experience in mentoring/coaching staff;
Excellent knowledge and hands on working experience in operating Microsoft Office suite;
Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Oracle Financials) is essential;
Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously;
A highly innovative, creative, results oriented individual with excellent analytical skills;
Attention to detail with good organizational, planning, report writing and presentation skills;
Proactive, confident, energetic with the ability to work under pressure on tight schedules;
A proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

AED is seeking a Chief of Party for a proposed USAID Tanzania Social Marketing Program (TSMP).

The goal of this cooperative agreement is to improve the health status of Tanzanian families.

To support this goal, the Tanzania Social Marketing Project (TSMP) has the following two intermediate results (IRs) and respective sub-intermediate results: Aggressively expanded impact of targeted social marketing initiatives that are aligned to measurable behavioral outcomes in HIV/AIDS, FP/RH, child survival, and malaria: a) Access to HIV/AIDS, FP/RH, child survival, and malaria social marketing products dramatically scaled up through a targeted approach; b) Consumer and trade understanding of the underlying public health issues and correct use of HIV/AIDS, FP/RH, child survival, and malaria products significantly increased; c) Sales and use of socially-marketed health products measurably increased. Local capacity (civil, public, and private) to sustain social marketing activities in Tanzania strengthened to achieve public health outcomes: a) Capacity of one or more Tanzanian organizations to implement social marketing programs and provide leadership in social marketing at the national level strengthened; b) Substantive partnerships with the civil, public, and commercial sectors and donors to promote a wider public health impact established and maintained; c) Capacity of public sector institutions to promote and regulate social marketing activities in Tanzania ensured.

The TSMP will establish and maintain continuous, close working relationships with other implementing partners and programs supported through USAID and PEPFAR, other social marketing programs supported by other donors, the GoT at all levels, and the commercial sector.

Job Functions

The Chief of Party will set a broad vision for and provide direction to the project. The Chief of Party is accountable to USAID; oversees all aspects of performance (technical, financial, and managerial); supervises core staff and coordinates all long- and short-term personnel; and serves as the project’s principal contact point for USAID and partner organizations.

Specific functions include:

- Manage overall project including responsibility for programmatic, financial, administrative, contractual, donor liaison, communication (project dissemination), and representation functions.
- Provide overall technical leadership in one or more core content areas and supervise and provide technical support to designated technical and management teams.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships, partnerships, and coordination with the State Ministry of Health, USAID-funded partners, and other stakeholders and partners, including non-USG donors.
- Build capacity among stakeholders
- Oversee development of annual workplans, budgets, reports, and other deliverables, ensuring all are on time and of high quality. Supervise performance monitoring and evaluation efforts.
- Troubleshoot to prevent and resolve potential problems and review outputs for quality control; ensure quality of all project activities.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will have senior experience managing complex, multimillion dollar donor-funded (preferably USAID) projects and with experience working in Africa (preferably Tanzania). S/he will have proven expertise in ensuring institutional capacity development and skills transfer among public, private, and NGO partners. S/he will have strong management and problem-solving skills, demonstrated experience in navigating complex political and policy issues, and the ability to work with government agencies, particularly USAID, and with multiple stakeholders and decision-makers. A Master’s degree is required in public health, development, social sciences, or a related field; and 15 years of relevant experience, including a minimum five years of experience working in Africa. Long-term work experience in Tanzania is highly desirable.
