In order to achieve its strategic goals, BOC seeks to recruit a dynamic and experienced Managing Director.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business in the East Africa Region and ensuring that the Company achieves its vision through reviewing, developing and implementing approved strategies and policies in line with its growth agenda.
Key roles and responsibilities for the position include:
Developing and executing policies, strategies and plans to ensure continuous growth, improved profitability and sustainability of the business;
Implementing the board’s business development and financial performance decisions;
Ensuring that financial disciplines and controls are maintained at all times.
Maintaining relations with customers, suppliers and other players in the industry for business growth;
Ensuring a safe and secure environment is created and maintained with commitment to sustaining safety, health, environmental and quality objectives.
Providing leadership to the management team while giving the necessary training and development required for optimum performance;
Ensuring that BOC’s current and future business objectives are met;
Ensuring that the company at all times maintains the highest level of governance around its operations and that the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics are maintained in all it does; and
Ensuring the increase of focus on Best Operating and Best Commercial practices.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution. A Masters degree would be an added advantage;
A team leader with 10 years relevant experience at senior management level;
Proven high performance and team orientation;
Demonstrated experience in project and risk management;
Exceptional cross cultural communication and cooperation skills; and
Strong growth drive, business acumen and strategic thinking expertise.
