Job Purpose

The Country Manager is accountable for managing the SAA country specific stations in their entirety.

The incumbents is responsible for ensuring that SAA is positioned as a professional airline with highest levels of customer service to our passengers and will be required to make certain that the stations within their responsibility meet all legal, Governmental and other requirements and regulations.

The job holder will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Company in the specified countries, ensuring that strategic and tactical plans are in place to facilitate the achievement of revenue and profit targets and growth in market share.

Accountabilities will include developing the business operationally, achieving financial targets, and delivering a customer focused service in accordance with the industry requirements and corporate, local and international standards.
Minimum Educational Qualifications

Grade 12
Relevant degree or diploma (in a business related field);
Advanced Computer literacy (MS Office);
Systems knowledge namely: SAP, Amadeus, Galileo etc.
Experience

Minimum 6 years relevant experience out of which at least 3 years should include functional management experience in an airline;
Tourism and/or hospitality experience is critical.

Project/Proposal Summary:
Over the course of the contract, MSI intends to assess the organizational capacity of large and small Tanzanian Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). MSIs activities will include strengthening CSOs through technical assistance to improve their operational capacity through management and financial systems to manage operational changes.
Position Summary:
The Deputy Chief of Party/Capacity Building Specialist will be responsible for carrying out tasks and deliverables associated with the program, as defined through the approved project work plans, and as required by the Chief of Party and MSI Technical Director. This will include, but not be limited to, areas such as capacity building assistance, including monitoring and evaluation, broad-based training, technical assistance, and institutional strengthening; and training and technical assistance in key areas of Organization Development. The Deputy Chief of Party will supervise MSI CCN staff and oversee MSI’s local project spending.

Responsibilities:
• Design and coordinate all capacity building assistance, including assessments, training and technical assistance.
• Oversee the project’s work with large and small CSO partners to ensure that the program builds their capacity in accordance with their legitimate expectations and agreed work plans set forth in the IDF.
• Lead capacity building efforts, including direct supervision of training-related positions, engagement of short-term technical assistance (STTA) providers, implementation of assessments, and oversight of MSI’s input as a significant partner on this program.
• Oversee the financial management and accountability of all activities implemented under the MSI sub-contract.
• Provide technical assistance in key areas of organization development and oversee all training efforts on behalf of the project.
• Contribute as appropriate to the development of project policy and processes and engage in joint activities as necessary.
• Promote the use among project partners of the Institutional Development Framework as a self-help tool for the development of their capacity
• Closely coordinate with the M&E Specialist and Grants Manager, so that M&E and training activities work hand-in-hand with the parameters and conditions established via grant awards.
• Provide any other assistance requested by the Project Director that relates to the project work plan.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; Master’s degree with at least 10 years relevant regional experience preferred;
• Capacity Building with at least 15+ years experience building the capacity of small and large organizations;
• At least 10 years of M&E and Organization Development experience, required;
• At least 10 years experience working in Africa, requried;
• Experience working with USAID, PEPFAR, and TOMSHA;
• Ability to travel in country;
• English fluency required; Swahili language skills a plus.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee all capacity building efforts of Large CSO partners to ensure the quality of their work with smaller CSO partners.
• Promote the use among program partners of the Institutional Development Framework as a self-help tool for the development of their capacity.
• Participate in the introduction of the Institutional Development Framework to small and large CSO partners and in subsequent follow-up activities.
• In collaboration with the rest of the project Technical Team, engage in the process of recruiting local CSO partners.
• As a member of the program technical team, engage with Monitoring and Evaluation activities as required.
• Make site visits to large and small project partners and potential CSO partners as necessary.
• Participate in and facilitate selected trainings.
• Engage with other local and international CSOs and local and national government groups to facilitate common dialogue around CSO advocacy and capacity building efforts.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; Master’s degree and 10 years relevant experience with small and large organization capacity building preferred;
• Experience living and working in Tanzania;
• Experience building the capacity of small and large CSOs;
• Experience with USAID and PEPFAR reporting is a must;
• Familiarity with TOMSHA reporting a plus;
• Regional travel required;
• Must be able to speak English fluently; Swahili language skills a plus.

Country Manager - Tanzania

Job objective

Leading the entire country team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic direction of the company as well as the day to day management functions associated with the position.

These will include sales and marketing, debt management, market share and product growth, brand development, increased revenue & profits, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Develop & achieve corporate goals in line with the company's strategic plan.
Formulate and implement marketing strategies/plans to achieve a higher brand visibility in the Tanzania market

Qualifications & other requirements
