SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation that provides support and guidance to SOS member associations in over 132 countries worldwide. Working throughout Africa and the Middle East, SOS Children’s Villages is in the process of recruiting a new Human Resources & Organisation Development Advisor for the Regional Office of Central & West Africa in Yaoundé, Cameroon, to lead the Human Resources & Organisation Development (HR & OD) function across the region, encompassing 13 countries. As new Regional HR & OD Advisor, you will report directly to the Regional Director of Central & West Africa while working closely with the continental HR & OD network.
THE CHALLENGE
- Building up an effective HR function in all countries within the region
- Facilitating organisation development processes aimed at strengthening our country programmes
- Implementing HR & OD strategies and standards
- Strengthening performance management at the regional and national level and building aligned training & development plans
- Facilitating leadership development for key staff across the region
- Supporting the development of strong national boards and management teams
YOUR PROFILE
- At least 5 years of HR / OD experiences in corporate or NGO environment, working at a managerial level
- Accredited Master’s degree in Human Resources Management
- Highly organised and able to work independently to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills
- Culturally astute, and have a passion for people development
- Understanding of labour law, performance management and compensation
- Hands-on training experience is an added advantage.
- Excellent command of French and English
- Ready to travel up to 30 % within the region and continent
