Do you want to be a leading player in HIV & AIDS prevention and control in Angola?
UNICEF is looking for a dynamic professional to support government and partners in prevention of HIV/AIDS amongst young people, PMTCT+ and care for infected and affected children in Angola. In this strategic position you will be leading and coordinating activities of a multisectoral team of UNICEF staff. You will represent UNICEF within the UNAIDS Joint Programme and be the focal point for leveraging resources and funding. You will closely work with the National AIDS Institute (INLS) and have an impact on the policy development and contribute to leveraging and scaling up and effective and evidence-based national response to prevent and control HIV/AIDS in children.
This is a senior international level position. You will need:
1. A Medical Degree and/or an Advanced University degree in Social Sciences or Public Health.
2. Eight years of progressively responsible professional work experience at national and international levels in program planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation.
3. High level of technical knowledge in the fields of PMTCT+ and Pediatric AIDS and a good knowledge in the areas of Primary Prevention and Protection for OVCs. Field experience of HIV/AIDS programming in Africa would be an asset.
4. Good communication skills, well organized and efficient, and able to work under stressful conditions with high workloads and tight deadlines;
5. Networking and advocacy competencies to establish and maintain good relationships with counterparts in Government and civil society.
6. Fluency in English and another UN language required. Knowledge of Portuguese is an asset.
