Nomination of the Chairperson of the Interim Independent Electoral CommissionPSC/CON/IIEC/CHR-2 - Chairperson of the Interim Independent Electoral CommissionPursuant to section 41 of the Constitution, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for nomination as Chairperson of the Interim Independent Electoral Commission.

The Chairperson of the Commission shall be a person who has held or is qualified to hold the office of judge of the High Court under the Constitution.

Persons who are Members of the National Assembly or of a local authority, members of the executive bodies of political parties or persons who hold or act in any office in the public service or in the armed forces of the Republic shall not be eligible.

The applications should be received on or before 17th March 2009 and should be accompanied by relevant testimonials.

The applications should clearly state, on the envelope and in the application letter, the reference number and the position applied for, as cited above.

Those who had previously applied shall be considered and need not reapply.
