CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR - TANZANIA ZAMBIA RAILWAY AITHORLTY

The Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) is a statutory institution owned by the two Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and Republic of Zambia on a 50 - 50 basis. The Authority is incorporated basis. The Authority is incorporated by the Acts of Parliament of the two contracting states, with its Registered Office being in Dar es Salaam in the United Republic of Tanzania.

The Authority has two Regional Administrative Centres, one in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and the other in Mpika, Zambia. We are inviting applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the following positions which have fallen vacant:

1. CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR (One Post)
LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE DAR ES SALAAM
Reporting to the Managing Director the successful candidate shall design and implement audit assignments through preparation of audit programmes and ensure that they are effectively executed.

DUTIES:
Duties will include preparation of audit programmes for carrying out specific audit assignments, including audit of revenue, salaries, fuels, capital assets and project audits and analysis to ensure that property is effectively utilized. Supervise audit teams on stock verification, assessment of purchase procedures and systems in order to ensure effective and proper systems of acquisition, storage and usage of railway materials and equipment. He/She will conduct audit of the Authority in order to ensure efficient operations and uncover any financial or material losses by pilferage, theft or any other method, and carry out on the job training of staff under his charge in order to achieve high quality audits.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent from a recognized UniversitylInstitution, with five years experience in a similar position. He/She should be a member of National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
