Internal Auditor and Procurement Officer

Kahuti Water & Sanitation Company is one of the Water Service Provider contracted by Tana Water Services Board (TWSB) as an agent to provide water and sanitation services in Kangema and Murang’a East Districts.

To strengthen our team of staff, we invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates with excellent credentials to fill the following positions:-

Internal Auditor

Reporting functionally to the Board Audit Committee and administratively to the General Manager, the Internal Auditor will be responsible for assisting management and the Board in the effective discharge of their responsibilities by furnishing them with reports containing analysis, recommendations, counsel and information concerning the activities/ operations reviewed including risk Management systems and governance.

Key Tasks

Designing, reviewing and developing audit techniques and procedures for assessing comprehensive financial and systems audit reporting
Reviewing and appraising the soundness and efficiency of all internal control systems including but not limited to financial, operations and procedures
Preparing the annual audit programme and ensuring that it is effectively and efficiently implemented.
Analyzing outcomes of audit activities, providing timely and accurate reports and following through to ensure that recommendations are considered and implemented in a timely manner.
Carrying out special audits and investigations as may be required from time to time and preparing reports of findings for the Board.
Liaising with the external auditors as appropriate to ensure timely external auditing is carried out on the organization.
Qualifications

B.Com/BBA with CPA(II) or CPA (K)/ ACCA
Professional membership / qualification in auditing will be an added advantage
Three (3) years relevant working experience in a similar position
Must have high level of integrity, confidentiality, and excellent administrative and organization skills.
Excellent Computer skills
Good report writing and communication skills
Ability to work under strict deadlines
Below 40 years of age
Procurement Officer

Reporting to the General Manager, the Procurement Officer will be responsible for the establishment and implementation of procurement systems in line with the Public and Disposal Act 2005 regulations 2006, and will provide guidelines to the management on matters relating to various procurement requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring that the provisions of Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2005 and Regulations 2006 are followed.
Planning and coordinating of procurement activities including but not limited to preparations of tender documents, ordering, delivery, storage and timely distribution of goods and services to end users
Liaising with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries
Preparing periodic procurement plans and reports as appropriate
Providing technical procurement advice to the Management
Qualification

Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management. Or equivalent from a recognized institution. A Bachelor degree in Business related area shall be an added advantage.
Have three (3) years working experience in procurement preferably in a public institution
Conversant with Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2005 and regulations 2006.
Proven Knowledge of Ms-Office
Strong analytical, public relations, interpersonal and Communication skills
Below 40 years of age
