National Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator
is an international non-governmental organization based in Cape Town, SA, dedicated to providing education and support to pregnant women and mothers living with HIV, and preventing mother-to-child transmission. m2m empowers HIV-positive pregnant women and new mothers to become role models in their communities by promoting AIDS awareness, testing and services. m2m currently operates in 7 countries in Africa and receives funding from a diverse set of funders.

Location: South Africa - Western Province, Cape Town
Purpose:
- To coordinate, implement, and oversee all monitoring and evaluation initiatives in support of the mothers2mothers program in South Africa.
- This position reports to the South Africa m2m Program Country Manager and is based in Cape Town.
Key Outcomes:
- Oversee and develop the South Africa m2m program monitoring and reporting system overall and with specific regional responsibilities for the m2m program in the Eastern and Western Cape regions;
- Assure timely, accurate and complete reporting of programmatic data to m2m HQ (M&E unit) and to donors and other stakeholders for South Africa as a whole and for the Eastern & Western Cape regions;
- Provide M&E related orientation, training, mentorship and technical oversight for m2m M&E staff including Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinators and Data Capturer/s;
- Provide M&E related orientation, training and mentorship for m2m program staff, either directly or through dedicated M&E staff, to Program Managers at the national, regional and provincial levels as well as to site staff (Site Coordinators, Mentor Mothers) and other program staff;
- Provide database management in support of the m2m program in South Africa;
- Build organizational M&E capacity and sustainability at m2m South Africa and across the organisation in collaboration with Department of Strategic Information and Technical Support (DSITS) staff;
- Assist with all other strategic information related programmatic activities, which may include activities at the m2m Innovation Center based in East London;
- Provide other M&E related guidance and expert assistance required in support of the m2m program in South Africa.
- Advanced degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, international health, or related discipline (masters degree or superior)
- Minimum of 4 years’ specific M&E related work experience in the health sector required, experience with HIV/AIDS preferred
- Experience in the implementation and management of M&E systems involving data base management and monitoring and promotion of data quality required
- Experience with multiple bilateral and multilateral donor M&E reporting requirements, with experience with USG PEPFAR requirements preferred
- Computer skills with work experience using MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Access required, competence in programming and analysis using programs such as SAS, SPSS, Epi-Info or others is an advantage.
- Good written and verbal communications skills in English with additional language skills an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team leader and as a team member with multidisciplinary teams.
