Assess, design, develop, implement and monitor/evaluate Organizational Development (OD) & HR strategies and systems in support of the overarching strategic business plan.
Lead a dynamic team towards the overall performance of the People & Culture (P&C) Group to ensure the effective and responsive delivery of OD and HR services to executives, managers and all employees.
Facilitate initiatives towards integration and delivery of organization performance, health and team cohesion organization-wide (both within Kenya and linking the Kenya office to the wider World Vision International Partnership initiatives).
Strategic Partnering (50%)
- Direct the OD team and participate in strategic and tactical planning for overall organization effectiveness to meet organizational goals.
- Lead, plan and co-implement initiatives towards the realization of the organizational vision, mission and three-year strategic and annual operating plan.
- Guide and facilitate board development of the WVK Board to facilitate their ongoing learning and understanding of the organization.
- Facilitate/support/guide organizational structure design and redesign efforts to ensure the realization of intended business results and impact.
- Provide OD budget guidelines for the various units to incorporate in their annual operational planning.
Employee satisfaction/Organizational effectiveness (15%)
- Direct organization-wide strategies that lead to the health, performance and overall satisfaction of staff.
Managing Change (10%)
- Within the Leadership Team, lead change-ready initiatives towards the fulfillment of ongoing cohesion and effectiveness of operations and functions.
- Ensure organizational changes are planned, prioritized and implemented with a comprehensive change plan.
- Ensure staff and leadership development strategy in place and implemented to prepare the organization for effectiveness.
Administrative (25%)- Provide expertise on business strategies, human resources processes (including but not limited to Recruitment,
- Employment, Benefits/Medical, Compensation, Orientation, Staff and Leadership Development), and organizational policies and practices
- Provide and monitor P&C Group operating budget and monthly expenses against the budget.
- Establish and utilize a network of resources internally and externally to meet the organizations learning and development needs.
- Direct the HR processes to ensure efficient and effective service delivery to key stakeholders, namely staff via quality monthly reporting.
REQUIRED:
1) Educational/Experience
Experience: 8-10 years of organizational development experience is required.
A minimum of three years international experience in WV’s advocacy relief and development programmes with a demonstrated understanding of workings of the World Vision Partnership. Proven experience in operational facilitation with broad-based experience in the human resource field highly desirable.
Proven record of successfully leading a team of professionals is required.
2) Technical Competencies:Business Know-How - Applies a broad-based understanding of key business fundamentals with knowledge of World Vision’s organization, strategic relationships, and the business/political environment.
- Uses a high-level understanding of finance, operations, marketing, information systems, and human resources to manage across departmental and functional lines.

- Understands the mission and work of the organization and organizational priorities.
Has demonstrated experience in WV’s international ministry and knowledge of the complexity of "the Partnership" -- World Vision International, including international locations.
- Applies an understanding of the organization's informal structure, culture and climate in achieving goals.HR Technical Skills
- Applies knowledge of all relevant employment laws in order to develop, monitor and adjust HR policies and practices.
- Applies recruitment principles, practices and laws including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and placement.
- Skilled in behavioral and other interviewing techniques, testing and assessment centers.
- Displays understanding of disciplinary policies and processes and counsels employees and managers in effective use of policies/processes.
- Demonstrates knowledge of WV compensation and benefit policies, principles and practices for purposes of advising managers and employees on the same.
Communication (verbal/written)
- Clearly and effectively expresses ideas, thoughts and concepts verbally and in written or graphic form, using correct and appropriate grammar, organization and structure, and effective presentation media and techniques.
