Country Coordinator
Oikos is a Portuguese NGO for Development and Humanitarian Aid; working against Poverty; Sustainable Agriculture, Emergency and for the implementation of the MDG.
Location: Mozambique - Maputo
Brief summary of the position:
The Country Coordinator (CC) is responsible for all programs running and the legal representation of Oikos in Mozambique.
The CC coordinates Oikos programs at national level and represents the organization with the local authorities, partners, international agencies and donors. The CC is also responsible for the coordination of the staff, composed by the field coordinators and the administrator, being in charge of the financial management and strategy for the representation, in articulation with the headquarters.
Position Description
- Define and guarantee the implementation of Oikos strategy in Mozambique
- Guarantee the follow up of financial and operational activities of Oikos in Mozambique
- Participate in the definition of the programs, elaborating ne proposals and budges for projects in the country
- Guarantee a good coordination of the functioning of the representation
- Serve as the legal representative of the organization before stakeholders, local authorities and partners in Mozambique
- Manage the security of the representation
- Supervise directly 4 project coordinator and representation staff (with approximately 60 persons).
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in the areas of Development and Cooperation, management and Social Sciences (International Relations, etc).
- Experience with project cycle management
- Experience in team management in the context of the humanitarian aid and development
- Management skills and strategic vision, insight
- High level of knowledge of international institutions financing dynamics
- High capacity of negotiation and representation
- Capacity of delegation and supervision
