We are seeking for a qualified bilingual (strong in French) individual for the position of Accreditation & Governance Advisor for Central and Western African sub Region consisting of 23 countries in sub Saharan Africa
Accreditation is a tool for assessing and reviewing the work of the IPPF Member Associations and ensuring compliance and international best practices in constitutional provisions, programmes and services, governance and management based on set IPPF Standards and Responsibilities of Membership. The accreditation process is a means to identify and address capacity building needs of the Member Associations.
Key responsibilities:
• Plan, organise, coordinate and monitor all accreditation and Governance activities including budgeting and reviews processes
• Conduct accreditation training/orientation for regional staff ,volunteers and staff
• Prepare and monitor the implementation of post-accreditation action plans of the Member Association
• Build capacity in specific technical areas of Accreditation and Governance in the Member Associations.
• Prepare and disseminate progress reports on all activities related to Regional Office accreditation and governance activities
• Review Member Associations constitutions to ensure they confirm to IPPF standards
• Act as Focal Person for assigned Member Associations
We are looking for a person with the following qualifications and skills:
With at least 5 years work experience doing similar or related work in an international NGO or similar organisation or accredited MA; you must have a Post-graduate degree in social sciences. one should have sound technical knowledge /understanding Governance and compliance issues including, strong project development, implementation and evaluation skills. In addition one should have excellent advocacy skills. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership and proven track record in team building skills. You must have proven analytical, presentation and written communication skills. Fluency in French language and working knowledge of English is desirable; knowledge of Portuguese would be an added advantage.
There will be frequent travel within the sub region.
