Vacancy: Google Earth Trainers
Google Earth Outreach and EIS-Africa are searching for a few qualifiedindividuals to become
Google Earth and Maps Trainers! If you are accepted to be a Trainer,you will participate in a Google Earth and Maps Trainer Workshop atthe AfricaGIS 2009 conference in Kampala, Uganda.
This 1-day intensivetraining workshop will take place on Sunday, 25 October, 2009.
All participants will then be encouraged to spend a few hours thefollowing week - during the Africa
GIS conference * furtherstrengthening knowledge and skills by assisting during trainingworkshops led by the Google Earth Outreach staff.
Participants willalso become part of a growing network of individuals who are technicalresources for public benefit organizations and projects in the future.
The long-term goal is for participants to serve as active focal pointsin Africa for encouraging and enabling the optimal use of Google Earthand Maps as tools for communication, collaboration,sustainable development and public outreach.
To participate, you must meet the following minimum criteria:Basic familiarity with Google Earth and MapsExperience in GIS, web, or databases
Ability to speak and work in EnglishTravel, accommodation, and AfricaGIS registration fees paid fromother source (we regretthat we cannot provide travel support for this workshop)
