International Governance Advisor

Location: Kenya -
tasks include:
Advise CEDMAC and other strategic partners on programming and engagement in national governance reform processes.
Train and support CEDMAC and other strategic partners in governance related campaign, advocacy and lobby skills, strategies and activities.
Assist MS Kenya and ActionAid Kenya in program development and alignment of ’Building Local Democracy’ and ’Just & Democratic Governance’ themes.
Required qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years relevant post graduate work experience
Practical experience with political empowerment methodologies such as mobilization, awareness raising, participation, etc
Experience with multifaceted governance programming
Familiarity with social accountability work.
Profound campaign, advocacy & lobby skills
Proven record of successful campaign, advocacy and lobby work within governance sector
Strong strategic and policy analysis skills
Proven coaching, mentoring & advisory skills
Minimum of 5 years work experience from developing countries
In depth knowledge of the Kenyan political, socio-economic and cultural context
Excellent communication, coordination and facilitation skills
Diplomatic and respectful
Resistant to adversity
Self-starter and innovator
Culturally sensitive
Multitasker
