Nation Media Group Ltd., the leading multimedia house in East Africa wishes to
recruit result-oriented and self-driven Security Officer.

We invite applicants who are performance driven and possess excellent

transferable skills with demonstrable records of achievement in past roles.

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Providing a safe and secure environment for employees and for customers;
• Providing an effective deterrent against potential threats of theft, assault
  and other crimes;
• Issuing assignment instructions and guard post operating procedures for
  contract security staff;
• Maintaining liaison with private and government security organs as a key
  requirement of the Group's security policy;
• Advising management on a wide range of security related events, specific to
  the organization and its various operations which impact on the safety of
  personnel or the reputation of the group
• Assisting the Group Security Services Manager in carrying out investigations
  on routine and reported incidents;
• Assisting the Group Security Services Manager in the periodic review and
  evaluation of NMG's organizational readiness against aware threats and
  developing appropriate preventive strategies consistent with sound business
  judgment;
• Occurrence reporting and performance management;
• Carrying out security assessments at all NMG sites as required to meet
  regulatory and corporate requirements;
• Coordinate and run security for all group functions and events as necessary;
• Assist with security training and awareness across the group as required and
  assist with security exercises at all sites as and when required;
• Other core tasks and responsibilities will include sharing best practice,
  carrying out compliance checks and conducting investigations when they
  occur and improve security in clearly defined areas;
• To assist in identifying potential security threats / issues to the
  achievements of the company business plans; and
• The job holder will assist and advice on the implementation of best practice
  in order to ensure that individual and company targets are achieved e.g.
  fraud reduction and crime prevention.

Skills Profile Requirement:-

1. A basic university degree with four(4) years experience or a diploma in
security management and six(6) years working experience;
2. Strong individual leadership skills and drive to achieve excellence;
3. Willingness and ability to work long/odd hours with minimum supervision;
4. The ability to relate and communicate with senior company executives;
5. An understanding of the strategic direction and goals of the business and
how to intertwine security needs with these objectives;
6. The ability to interact at all levels of the organization and demonstrate
sensitivity to confidentiality.
7. Ability to function as an integral part of the senior management team with
a clear focus on detail and integrity; and
8. A valid driving License.
