Applicants for engineering positions must be registered or eligible for
registration with the Engineers Registration Board.

General Requirements

Professor

Applicants should have PhD Degree or its equivalent from recognized university
and at least four (4) years of university teaching and research experience since
becoming Associate Professor in their areas of specialization.

They must have at least five (5) publications in refereed journals or two (2)
university level books since appointment as Associate Professor.

The successful candidates will be expected to provide academic leadership in the
department by teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in their
areas of specialization, supervise postgraduate students, initiate and carry out
research and participate in community service.

They should show evidence of sustained research output, effective teaching,
successful supervision of postgraduate students and activity in relevant
professional bodies.

Associate Professor

Applicants should have PhD Degree or its equivalent from a recognized university
and at least four (4) years of university teaching and research experience since
becoming Senior Lecturer. They must have either at least four (4) publications in
refereed journals or one (1) university level book since appointment as a Senior
Lecturer.

They should show evidence of continuing research, publications, effective
teaching, participation in seminars and conferences and supervision of
postgraduate students.

The successful candidates will be expected to provide academic leadership in the
department by teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in their
areas of specialization, supervise postgraduate students, initiate and carry out
research and participate in community service.

Senior Lecturer

Applicants should have PhD Degree or its equivalent from a recognized university
and at least four (4) years of university teaching and research experience since
becoming lecturer.

They should show evidence of sustained research output as evident by at least four
(4) publications in refereed journals since appointment as Lecturer.

Those with Masters Degree in addition to Bachelors Degree, plus at least five (5)
years of university teaching experience as Lecturer and five (5) publications, in
refereed journals since appointment as Lecturer will also be considered.

Successful candidates will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and
postgraduate levels, supervise postgraduate students, initiate and direct relevant
research projects and participate in the implementation of university extension
services as well as departmental and field activities.

Lecturer

Applicants should have PhD Degree or its equivalent from recognized university.
Those with Masters Degree in addition to Bachelors Degree and at least (2) years of
university teaching experience or research experience and at least two (2)
publications in refereed journals will also be considered.

The successful candidates will be expected to teach, conduct research, and
supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students

Research Fellow

Applicants should have PhD Degree in Biotechnology or Food Technology or its
equivalent from a recognized university.

Those with Masters Degree in Biotechnology or Food Technology and at least three
(3) years research experience in a university or comparable institution will also be
considered.

The successful candidates will be expected to conduct research at the Science
Park.

Assistant Lecturer

Applicants should have at least a Masters Degree in addition to Bachelors Degree
with at least one (1) year teaching experience at a university.

The successful candidates will be expected to teach, conduct research, and
supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students
