Chief of Party

CHIEF OF PARTY - OVCS IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN ETHIOPIA

Pact Ethiopia envisions an empowered society, whose social, political and economic rights are ensured and its mission is to enhance the capacity of development partners to ensure the attainment of social justice, improved economic opportunities, and peaceful co-existence. Pact is recruiting candidates for the position of Chief of Party for a proposed program in Ethiopia Serving Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Primary Schools.

Responsibilities:

The Chief of Party (COP) will provide the vision, technical leadership and management oversight for the project in addition to the supervision, administration, and implementation of the contract in the field.
This individual will establish and maintain systems for project operations, ensure that all contractual deadlines are met and targets are achieved, maintain working relationships with project stakeholders and partners, and oversee the preparation and submission of periodic progress and financial reports. The COP will deal with partner organizations and coordinate with USAID and other donors in all aspects of project planning, monitoring, and execution.

Qualifications:

- A minimum of a Master’s level degree and minimum of ten years of experience working in Africa education or other field directly related to education, health, and the many areas related to comprehensive support of orphans and vulnerable children
- Extensive experience in development and management of community-based education programs supporting OVCs in developing countries.
- A minimum of ten years of overseas experience in managing and providing technical, administrative and financial guidance and supervision for a group of professionals
- Excellent diplomacy skills and the ability to collaborate and form strong relationships with a host of government institutions in varying sectors
- Knowledge of USAID regulations and operating procedures
- Excellent written communication skills in English- Desirable- Work experience in Ethiopia, particularly in the health and/or education sectors
